Why Continuum exists

A family’s financial life deserves to outlive the people, software, and spreadsheets that hold it today.

There’s a gap between a budgeting app and a family office. An app is too shallow — it doesn’t understand entities, K-1s, basis, trusts, or the difference between what you own and what an LLC owns on your behalf. A family office is too much — expensive, bespoke, and built around specific people who eventually move on. Most families with real complexity live in that gap, holding their whole picture together with a CPA’s memory, a bookkeeper’s file, an advisor’s portal, and a drawer of paper.

Continuum is the continuity layer that sits across all of it. It reads your tax returns and your financial statements, reconciles them to one source of truth, and keeps that truth current and portable — so it can be understood and handed off, this year and in thirty years.

One source of truth, kept honest

Every number carries where it came from, how confident we are in it, and the date it was true. A verified figure from a filed return looks different from a quick estimate — decades from now your family can tell which is which. We lead every financial summary the same way, in the same order: net worth, then total assets, then liabilities. Net worth is exactly gross assets minus the debt you actually owe. Insurance is protection — never counted as an asset. Getting the math right and consistent everywhere is sacred; a wrong total breaks trust, and trust is the whole product.

Make the news, don’t report it

Continuum does the work. Drop a document — any document, in any format — and it reads it, files it where it truly belongs, links it to the right entity or asset, records the income, and itemizes the specifics out of the lump. It asks you only when it genuinely needs a human judgment, never to confirm something obvious. The goal is the quiet relief of “it’s handled,” not another inbox of tasks.

Indispensable, never by lock-in

We want Continuum to be impossible to live without — and effortless to leave. Your whole picture exports in one click, documents included. You stay because it’s genuinely useful and trustworthy, never because you’re trapped. Your data is yours: isolated to you, never sold, never used to train a model. Transparency is the strategy, not a disclaimer.

Built to outlive any single person, software, or AI

The ultimate user isn’t you — it’s whoever comes after you. The executor at 2am, the spouse who never handled the finances, the grandchild in 2055 trying to understand what was built and why. Continuum keeps closed entities, sold businesses, and old documents as long as you want them, because history isn’t clutter — it’s the record your family and your advisors will need. It’s designed so that no single CPA, no single app, and no single AI model is a point of failure.

Security as a precondition

Continuum holds some of the most sensitive information a family has, and it’s built for people who others will try to reach. Your records are locked to your account at the database level, your Social Security and account numbers are never stored, and everything travels and rests encrypted. Security isn’t a feature here; it’s the floor everything else stands on.
